I’m so glad you made it and you’re here. I was almost twice your age when I started HRT. I had most of my youthful adulthood taken from me too. It’s awful what trans kids are going to go through now (and are already going through, the majority have unsupportive parents), but all hope is not lost. I tell as many youth as I can, just hang on to life as tight as you can til you’re 18, it sucks but I *know* you can make it that far. It seems like forever away until it’s not. That may just be the most we can say at this point.
Its telling how the trans people regretting not being able to transition in their youth never get a voice. They are a much larger group than the detransitioners. That's how much more a cis life is worth to them compared to a trans life.
In addition man detransitioners do agree that their transition was still important to their life's journey. Not all detransitioners *regret* and a lot of them argue for easy access to care. After all the few youth who did transition and regret it are basically at the same starting point as those of us who were forced through the wrong puberty. They need gender affirming care, too.
